Resin and other media
Posted by Greenshirt on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 3:20 PM
I haven't built a car kit since I was pretty young (40 yrs ago or so) and my searches so far for kits only seem to have the same 50 or so Revell, Monogram, AMT kits. I'm not sure what I want to build but I'll know it when I see it. Where is a good website that has the more esoteric kits? I've done resin and vac aircraft so those media don't concern me. TIA.

I have not purchased from these folks yet but have heard good things about their products. They sell bodies, trans kits (you combine their parts with a more "typical" manufacturers kit) and lots of detail parts.

This website has a ton of links for other sources...

Also if your so inclined Ebay is a good source for old or unusual kits. I have purchased some old road racing and Indy car kits recently. As usual several of the sellers ask rediculous prices but you can also find reasonably priced stuff if you are patient.

Hope you find something that sparks your interest, good luck.

that's because the same guys who built model cars 30 years ago are the same guys that build them today!

OO: ha!

BttB: thanks for the links.

I'm not into muscle or racing cars, maybe Fomula One or something like a "Speed Racer" car. My favorite car is a Porsche 356B Cabriolet, followed by a MGB (actually had one in my 20's). I'll see what I can find...
