Added thoughts: I'm not sure about the year but I think AMT did a Mercury convertable around that vintage. Donor car? (parts)

The only model I remember of that car was the factory promotional models. If you can find one of these for sale I am sure that the collector price will be more than that of the resin model.

Thanks for the link.  I've never tried a resin kit before, but I'll call the company and get a little more information about it.  Price is a little steep, but if it looks like something I can do, I'll probably spring for it.  Thanks again,

Tom

1963 Mercury Monterey

Is there a plastic model kit of a 1963 Mercury Monterey--- the one with the reverse rear power window?  Have never seen one.  I floated a post a couple of years ago about this, and just hoped that there might be more information or products out there this time around.  I'm not sure why this particular car model has never been available--- every other conceivable year and make seems to be.  It's such a unique style and they were used by government officials routinely in the early 60's (see "Thirteen Days" with Kevin Costner riding in one).  Plus, of course, the real reason I want to build one is because it was the first car I ever drove, the car my wife and I made out in when we were 16, and the car I used to drive to the beach with my 9'10" Gordon & Smith sticking through the back window.  We never forget first loves.  I just wish AMT or Revell or someone would come out with a kit so I could indulge myself.  Any information will be greatly appreciated.
