Fun in 1/43 scale.

Working on a 1/32 BF 109 leaves a lot of time between curring paint and drying decals so since I had a couple of AMT/Ertl 1/43 kits I decided to give 'em a go. The Vette is a ultimate I just added to this due to the scale, I finished it about a month ago. The 48 Ford is very cool, the over sized photos dose not do it justice. The 69 Chevelle was fun to, homemade decals look cool on this color. Very nice change of pace. Just don't enlarge the photos when viewing as it will show much more than your eye unaided can see. And I've only seen one person looking over models at a show with a magnifying glass and he was partially blind.

Excellent work in my favourite scale, I do remember some from testers or somebody that came with photo etch, that was years ago and have not seen them since.

Again excellent, you have achieved a quality of finish that's up there with die cast manufacturers inn this scale.

Is 1/43rd a popular scale in the States, I ask because over here it's kinda the money scale, at collectors shows you can use 1/43rdalmost as currency.

Terry.

Popular yes, but not the most. Right now 1/24 &1/25 scale automotive is what is popular, and always have been over the 1/43 offerings although 1/43 is out there, most are metal, all of these are plastic. The Corvette is one of those offered back in 1991 that included a complete engine and transmission, undercarriage exhaust and photo etch. You can still find them for 20-30 dollars off E-bay. My problem is I take too large and detailed a photo, I need to keep them back so the detail you would normally not see does not show up. The pic with the 48 Ford sitting on the pci of the actual car and pretty much alone is pretty much full size and depicts the model better than those supper close ups I did.
