1/32 scale engines
Posted by Senior Chief (ret) on Saturday, January 21, 2012 5:02 PM

I have a couple of small boat model projects going and I'm looking for engines in 1/32 scale to fill engine compartments.  I am looking for a Detroit Diesel 6V53N and a Ford 427 V-8.  I know that there have been a number of truck and auto kits made in this scale but have not been able to find info on whether they had engines in the kits.  Would appreciate any info on kits that could provide these parts.

Thanks,

Matt

i dont really know of many places that make 1/32 engines...if it was 1/35 that would be another story. would you consider getting an engine in 1/35 and doing some work on it? if so, i would try verlinden...with all the 1/35 engines they make you would most likely be able to find something to work with. hope this helps!!

Thanks Wild Child, I had previously checked out Verlinden, but didn't see anything there I could use.

for the 427 you may be able to find a die-cast with an engine in it......odds are you would probably have to do some detail work but it would be easier than building one from scratch.
