I have Liberty Classic's 1/6 Shelby Cobra 427 engine replica. The exhaust headers are painted silver, which is fine, but I'm wondering if they should be white. Some race car engines have a white coating (ceramic base, I believe). Does anyone out there know if white or some other color is more appropriate for this engine? It's a very good replica; even though it's already built I'd like to detail it a bit more with painting, etc. The silver is OK but just seems sort of generic.
Any ideas would be helpful. I have several books about the Cobra & I've searched the web but I can't seem to find any photos of the 427 out of the car, so I can't see the headers themselves.
Here's a link to Liberty's website that has information about the replica. The photo's small but can be enlarged:

Thanks!
