stuck on the hood decal.
more stuff added in
added in the duct hoses
time for some body work.I thinned out all the edges of the body even in the engine compartment.still a lot of sanding to do but its getting there and I think I will leave the molded in fuel filler just because the way the decal is cut out to fit around it.also I had a Photo-etch grill set so I plan to use on this car.
I got the rear end in. just need to add the shocks.
looking damn nice. a little bit of detail goes a long way. i like the weathering, adds a nice 'real-world' touch.

Griffin She's coming along nicely (not that I would expect anything else from your work)! Do you use artists' oils for washes?

thanks.
yup I use oils, but i dont do washes. I let the paint dry out a bit on some cardboard then brush it on the parts, and use a q-tip to remove it and also to blend it around
couple small parts painted. air cleaner distributor and the oil tank
seat finished
I tweaked the colors on the headers and added a bit more pink to them.and glued the engine in the chassis
I glued in the dash and a few other parts
I scratch made a new gauge panel from aluminum
some chassis weathering, rubber debris a few oil streaks general dust accumulated after 500 miles of racing.
Griffin JT - Great work as usual. Sorry for the silly question but what is the rust coloured stuff in pics #5 and #6 in the OP?

bondo putty. I just use my liquid glue and that together and flow it around joints or other areas I dont wanna sand.
bobbaily Very nice job James-especially on the headers. Great job on the heat effect. Question-are you going to use the kit decals for the body work? A design that complex makes me nervous especially with older 'standard issue kit' decals.

got one header painted.I paint it polished aluminum then use artist oils for the heat staining.
top end painted, i used some parts box valve covers. I've had 'em forever and they never fit on anything! lol
Damn! If the rest of the build turns out as nice as the tires,ya got a winner!
Hi, i dont see this car built often. I plan on using the kit decals and doing it out of box. with only a few extra detail in the interior.got the tires done, the sticker is from an older AMT decal sheet. and slixx goodyears
got the chassis painted grey. roll bar padding etc. I cleared over everything and will go back and repaint the roll bar padding again when I'm finished so its flat. this way the black paint wont rub off while I'm handling it and stuff.I also just noticed I forgot to paint one of the roll bar padding! loldetail painted the engine and transmission
