Painting flames
Posted by 7474 on Thursday, February 5, 2004 3:11 PM
Hi All:
I watch a lot of Monster Garage and am fasinated by every thing. IF any of you have noticed the flame jobs that have been done on such autos such as: Jesse James' truck, the jet car, the utlimate tail gater, and one other. I was wondering if any of you have dried to do this and can give me advice to do this my self. I don't want a fake sissy looking flame job.
I model aircraft my self and want to do this on a couple of my supersonic aircraft. Please help? I've even tried to contact west coast choppers and all I received was: "we don't do the painting here. WCC"
Thanks for any help.

There is a website called, "Lords of the asphalt". Type it in a search engine. Anyway this guy does the most incredible flame jobs on model cars iv'e ever seen. He uses an airbrush. He can do the shading and 3-D overlapping you see on alot of chopper gastanks. He's expensive I will warn you. But his work will blow your mind!

Hi All:
Thanks for the info. I can't wait to do this my self. I'll post some pics on my next victum that I'll try this on. I have a Luge sled that I want to redo the paint, I can't wait to repaint that, and hit the ice track with this flame job. I trust my art skills.
CKFredrickson I give you a special thanks for that link. It's exactly what I needed.
