rusty rolls

My mother found this kit on one of her garage sale adventures. The instruction claim the kit was made in 1968, but it could be a repop for all i know. It was missing parts but it was only a few bucks. I decided to use it to practice some rusting.

The garage it is sitting in is the last thing i built before leaving the hobby about 12 years ago. I've been back at it for about 2 years or so now and am tempted to update the garage with newly acquired skills. i dont really build many cars but the garage could use some weathering and such. I might even finish the Edsel in the background someday as well.

I originally wanted to give it a Rat Rod look but I didnt want get to detailed on the kit, i just wanted to try some new things. Stippling the plastic to give it some texture where rust would be and rips the interior for example.

I always notice things i missed after i take pics. So i might have to go back to it anyway.

Thanks for looking.

The weathering on the rolls is much better than the edsel. maybe you're getting better? (rust on a red car i usually do as a more of a brown for more contrast to the paint)

Sure would have been a hot rod with those fat tires on the rear.

Thanks guys, i was pretty unhappy with the Edsel. That was the first time i tried rusting a car. I've learned a bit since. It's a fun technique to fool around with though. I'm sure i'll try again. Thanks for lookin.
