The white is tamiya rattle can ts-26 over tamiya rattle can white primer. The primer was decanted for airbrushing and polished to a shine. I tried decanting the ts-26 for aibrushing but couldnt get a good finish so did it from the can. It gives an absolutely beautiful finish but is very prone to running. The red is a mix of the kit decals and tamiya x7. After deacling the bodywork was 2K glosscoated and polished.
The exhausts had photoetch welds glued on but they stood out so high that i had to add milliput in between them to build the exhaust diameter back up to the weld level again. Next time I'll use liquid sprue instead. They were sprayed with Mr Hobby SM-06 then given a light coat of a dilute mix of tamiya gloss black/clear yellow. The welds were masked with thin strips the then a darker shade of the mix was sprayed on around the tape, The masking was removed and a very very light wash of the mix was dabbed into the weld recesses and a final coat of tamiya smoke to even it all out. Its supposed to resemble burnt titanium but I think I overcooked the colour. If I did it again the colouring would me more subtle.
All the hydraulic and oil connectors are either top studio resin or Scale Model Factory metal after market items.The oil lines are all metal braided hose and all other cables including the extra ones i added (throttle cable plug leads radiator fan and other electrical wiring) are stretched shrink tube apart from the (awful ) battery wires which are painted copper. Other pe items are hose clamps and cable ties and various metal rivets.
And i added the expansion tank and electrical box under the seat which are missing from the kit.
