'77 GMC plow truck, wip

Man! That is some of the best "everyday" weathering I've ever seen. Really looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

I've got one of AMT's LNT8000 Snow Plow kits sitting in the pile, and this would be a perfect fit.

You might want to add a "wart" on that RH "whisker" where it had been bent, and hammered back enough times that it broke and needed to be welded back on.  

Might want to remember to have a busted-off mailbox and a crushed metal trash can in the back, too.

I would also like to know more on how you do your weathering techniques!  Please share the knowledge!  PM me any time or lay it out here!

i got the other part of the plow painted and glued on

for the weathering I did the famous hairspray thing,  but i also and for the most part just dab on craft paint to make the rust and then filter in with oil paints to add different colors and a touch of pencil lead here and there to. 

heres the basic interior,  I added a joystick for the plow and made a camo hat lol, I might add more clutter around later

lol, that would be cool, i wish someone would make some good quality figures in 1/24 scale!

some paint on the box.  added some dead leaves around also.

here is the final layer of weathering on the box.  its where i add in more depth and different shades of rust.
hopefully you can notice the difference it makes.

and if anyone is wondering how i attach the leaves I soak everything with hairspray and then attach them on, and then more hairspray and then seal with dullcote.

What's the "hairspray thing?"  I am not aware of that technique.  How did you do your base coat?  What paint?  Was it a flat or did you buff it out to get it flat?

do you mean the hairspray as a glue? or using it for chipping?

I'm curious about the details of this technique on this model as well. I've only seen it used for very heavy weathering. Here it is used more subtly.

There's a lot to learn from and aspire to here.  You have a lot of talent and a good eye.

I didn't read anywhere in the thread that you used AM truck parts. Is it all box stock?

yes box stock, I only added the whiskers on the plow, lift chain, wipers and soldered up some new mirror brackets.
