OO,

That's what I did.  Painted the rotor silver, and the caliber red.

I just have to pick up some Tamiya X7 red to paint teh middle of the seats.  Then I'll be ready to "close it up."

Question, are the instructions for all AMT cars so well "written?"  If so I may have to rethink purchasing anymore of their car models.  How are their other kits?

Question, should the disc brakes be black or body color?

disc brakes are normally a flat silver, with the caliper part red. The instructions vary a bit, but most american kits (amt, mpc, revell and monogram) are all generally pretty poor.

I was looking at the mirror decals that came with the kit.  I really didn't like the way that they looked on the sheet.  So instead of using them, I just painted the mirrors silver.  I'm pretty sure that at this point I've pretty much have everything painted.  I did the shifter gloss black at the base, and leather for the handle itself, for fog lights I did them in sliver.  And as I've already said, it sure would be NICE if AMT had included some painting instructions other then just listing the various colors that one needs to finish the build as it appears on the box.

Sadly, as with the Revell '64 Ford Fairlane this build has taken a backburner to other things.  But of late I have been making progress with this build as well.

Question, should the disc brakes be black or body color?

Again as with the '64 Ford Fairlane, thanks to dry fitting the parts I've gotten a much better idea of how the pieces go together.

Sadly, where the interiro door panals meet the the interior chassis there is a bit of a gap in the seam.

It'd be nice if the instruction sheet gave some painting instructions, all it does is to list the colors that one needs to complete the build to match the picture on the box.

Go to google, type 2009 corvette, then click 'images' tab. it'll give you a heap of photos that'll help.

steering column: black

dash center: black

underhood area and rear body: body color

brakes and exhaust tips: silver

external mirrors: body color

OO,

Thank you, I've already found a few pictures online of the 2009 Corvette Coupe.  Several of them showing the dash as black on top and body color on the bottom.  And I've seen a couple of pictures that showed the dash as black and leather.  There's a Chevy dealership not too far from my house that I've been thinking of going to to see if they have any promotional material still on hand for the '09 Corvette Coupe.

On this particular kit the hood does not open and there is no engine included in the kit.  Still I like it.

One idea that I've been playing with, is adding flames to it.  I've got another kit in the same scale that came with flames and I could use them on this build instead.

AMT/Ertl 2009 Chevy Corvette Coupe

I'm in the process of building the AMT/Ertl 2009 Chevy Corvette Coupe.  Right now, I'm in the process of painting before assembly.  I am going with red (as it's one of my favorite colors) there are some pieces I'm wondering if I should paint red i.e. the body color or black.  They are circled in the pictures that I'll be including in this post.  Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
