The Pochers days long passed were works of art.  The packaging was amazing- the parts were organized into dozens of little plastic bags stapled to fold out cardboard wings, each labeled with the part numbers contained, which were reference in the instruction book.  The plastic in the kits were the body parts.  Everything went together with tiny screws, or nuts and bolts.  The steering linkages and brakes actually worked. There were hundreds of special machined parts of brass or other metals.  I can't imagine producing something like that today.

Ditto on the "experienced modelers only". I'm working on a 1/8 Pocher Ferrari Testarrosa V-12 that I'm putting into a 1/8 Monogram '32 Ford "Big Deuce" that I built many, many years ago and did not fare well over the years. The engine has parts that aren't used for an engine. The plug wires that were laying on top of parts in a bag started to melt their way into the parts. They are very sticky and have a very strange odor. Every part in the box had flash and parts don't line up. Even the picture of the engine on the box cover showed the flash and bad fit. Check out my WIP back a little ways and you'll see it all.

Hope the new ones are better. Good luck.

I keep hitting "escape", but I'm still here.

I am amazed- I thought Pocher was long gone, decades ago.  I built 3 of their kits back in the 60's - 70's-  Two Alfa Romeos and a Fiat. Amazing kits!!! But be aware,  these were for experienced modelers only, and I expect the new one is the same.

Well I am mostly a lurker on this forum, as I have small children and have not had much time for the hobby in recent years (mostly buying kits these days, few being built), and my interest used to be primarily in autos.

I've posted the news on ScaleAuto forum, but I know not everyone on here floats over there, so here it is:

An all new, 1/8 scale Lamborghini Aventador, and it looks very nice!

I am very excited about the revival of the Pocher brand, as I have started branching out into larger scales and aircraft / ship modeling.  Not sure how many of you were aware of the Pocher developments, so I thought I should post up.

I just recently finished a 1/32 Kenworth with my 8 yr old son (his first co-op effort at a model) and hope to be following up with more subject matter with him.  He is interested in cars and we will be working on modifying diecast police cars with LED lights and siren.  I am hoping the quick building will hook him further into the hobby.

Looking forward to further discussions on this forum as I get into building some more military and civilian aircraft projects; I have several airliner kits screaming "build me!"  Keep up the great modeling work everyone! Reading about it keeps me engaged in the hobby even though I rarely have build time available with 2 and 4 year old sons who want to participate along with the 8 yr old, but are too young and not able to.  It makes it a challenge!
