I will use the chassis from the AMT '66 Nova because it fit the '57 body without alteration .I decided to paint it copper.

I used the springs and front suspension from the '57 kit to raise the front end.Plus the spindles and tierods are much beefier than the ones in the Nova kit.

I used the kits headers on a previous project so I had to make my own.I used one conductor wire and it worked pretty well.

Neat trick with the headers, I've heard of folks using solder in the past. How well does the wire paint up?

The plastic insulation accepts paint very well.

I cut a section out of an old antenna, flattened it slightly and mounted it up.Makes a cool header cap.

Oh man, I love me some model parts made from junk drawer stuff. The next time (if ever) I build a Focke Wulf Fw190A, I might consider wire for the 14 exhaust pipes, as opposed to the kit headers nightmare.

Great job, philo426. We think alot alike.

I will use the floor pan, seats and console from the Nova kit and the sidepanels from the '57 kit.

I test fit the body to the chassis. The set back engine and front wheels fit in well with the street freak theme.I still have to bare metal the trim, install the glass and dashboard but it is moving along.

Foiled the driver's side today.I used the photoetched scripts and fender slashes from the pro version of this kit.I wish all kits had them!
