Yes bobbailey. I would like to try a real rat rod with rust and all but what do I do when I lash it up and waste a body or even more a whole kit?

I was a Judge for the full scale stuff. My involvement in the Classic Car Hobby was primarily with the early Mustangs but I managed to learn a few things about a lot of cars.

Nice build Pat-I always enjoy 'Rat Rod' type builds...they allow for more creativity.

That's a really cool build! Now you need a Volkswagen with zimmerit, and a three color German tank camo.

Cheers Bob, yes I buy distributor packs here in the UK in 4,6 & 8 cylinder with a mixture of wire colours. So you were a judge well I've never shown any of my kits over the 40+ years I've been building due to the shows being so far away!

Hey Pat, from what I can tell, it looks like you did a really nice job in the engine bay, particularly with the plug wires. Just as an interesting side note, I used to do some judging at Car Shows a number of years ago and we used to joke around about the difficulty of finding an original 49 Merc. We called them " an endangered species ". I did see a Stock one at a Car Show last summer and it was impressive. Good Job on this one.                Bob

I had seen this car in show pics, TJ Lavin's Ford but I only had a Mercury on the shelf..........

TJ's Car

My attempt...............

The paint is OK, it's I that lost my temper with a continuingly bad custom paint finish and then brushing on brush cleaner to take the paint off! This 'burnt' the plastic shell, so seeing TJ's car I had a way out of my mess.
