DJZ 1/12 SCALE TAMIYA 934 RSR PORSCHE
Posted by DJ404564X4 on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 7:23 PM

I've been eyeballing this model since August when I got back into modeling. Glad I did a couple before starting with this one.

It is an original 70's issued model, so no photo etched parts.

Found this, some really good picts of a real car. Good reference.

I don't vouch for the link...

I'm going to make a diorama with the trans axle out of the car, trans off and the front clip removed as if the car was being worked on. Way to much detail to hide. I might even do, wait for it, a cut away...

The factory motor came with an fiberglass fan shroud so I will leave it raw.

Not really happy with the plain black wires, will probably do blue.

Looking real sharp so far.  Will be interesting to see this built up.

Also, took me a while to figure out the "funky" orange background in your photos.  It's hardwood table, right?  Does your camera have a white balance adjustment?  If so, it's relatively easy to adjust to remove the orange cast.

Great job so far. While working on my 1/8 '32 Ford, I've found out that as you want to add detail you have to be more precise in your work. In 1/24 you just have to be "close". In the larger scales, it really has to look like it. Slow but sure does the job. Keep up the good work.

Interested to see this progress.

at least tamiya add more detail to their bigger kits, unlike those mongram 1/12 kits.
