I don't usually build cars but I wanted to do something different.  So, I am building a '49 Mercury. I'd like to put down some black flocking for carpet but I can't find any. It looks like Detail Masters isn't stocking/making it any more.  Any ideas where I can find some? Thanks.

Have you considered using what ever color you can find and painting it ? Idont think a few light coats would degrade the texture.

You may want to consider trying embossing powder as well - here's a thread on SAM about it - can pick it up at most Michaels and HL - IMO looks much closer to scale. :)

Thanks for the tips and suggestions.  My wife has some embossing powder, so I may give that a try.  Paint would look good too, but I want to try my hand with flocking or embossing first.  Thanks again for your help.

Try Michigan Avenue in Detroit MI. Oh "flocking", never mind.

Mix the colour of your choice, add talcum powder & stipple where needed, gives a velvety effect.

I tried this with enamels years ago, but haven't yet tried this with acrylics.
