Heey;

    That is nice .Guess what? You did a good job sitting the body on the frame for the pictures,  I happen to know from experience ,you could get a tighter fit on those doors and the hood . But,it was rare indeed,  I do Like the work you've done so far .       T.B.     P.S.    My real truck's hood fit about like that. So no worries there.

This kit actually dates back to the 60's, except for newly tooled stock engine parts in the 95 issue.

If I do the kit scheme it'll be a gloss white body with red flame decals. Not sure yet whether I'll go with that or do something different. Tempted to go another way as I am not a fan of trying to get a good white finish.

Like the framework/interior. I'm thinkin' a primer black body to go with the red wheels/interior! I wouldn't sweat the hood fit, they weren't that tight in 1:1 either.

Decided to go ahead and tackle the kit my wife got me as a thank-you for repairing her iPad, the Revell 1/25 1956 Ford F-100 Ed Roth edition. I saw this advertised and even though I'm not a car kit person I decided I just had to build it. I showed it to my wife at the hobby shop and home it came!

Revell did do one sneaky thing with this kit. All the info on the outside and their site shows a 2012 release date. Well, yes and no. This version of the kit is indeed a 2012 release, but the truck itself is a 1995 release. The decals and a few parts are all that's really new. Ah, well, no big deal.

I neglected to take photos of the majority of the build, just didn't feel like it. I did take what I call "halfway point" pics:

Finished chassis

Cab and engine

Previews with tonneau cover and without

You can see some of the fit issues in those last two pics. The doors and hood just don't fit as well as they could. It would be nice to see Revell re-engineer this kit with new molds. Then again, that could be said about a lot of kits, couldn't it....
