I want to build a Porsche 917,but the available kits seem rather pricey.I decided to use an HO Aurora a/FX body as a pattern to make templates for a 1/25th scale version.May not work but I will give it my best shot. The templates were made out of .80 styrene.

After some thought.I decided to cut a piece of 2by 4 into the wedge shape, clamp the plastic to it ,and use my wife's hairdryer to heat the plastic to assume the correct shape.

All of the ducts have to be shrouded  and the wheel vents have to have arched grilles.Much work ahead but it is looking like a race car.Much bigger than 1/25th!More like 1/16th!

Primered it and painted it silver prior to painting it white.

8 and 3/4 inches.It appears to be larger than 1/25th perhaps 1/20th or 1/16th.

Painted one of the racing stripes.Due to the rather elaborate masking ,I have to wait until tomorrow to paint the other one.

Cut out the RC Grafic and carefully airbrushed a light coat. Heavier coat(s) to follow.

I am not sure about the chassis.may have to scratch build it but it will not be easy.
