Revells 1/25 Beatnik Bandit
Posted by kpnuts on Friday, September 12, 2014 1:10 PM

Hi all just a quickie as a break. I am doing the Beatnik Bandit (Not the correct colours) I never build as it's supposed to be, unless it's a definitive article. Nope don't build the way it's supposed to be, 2 reasons for that.
1: Hides my bad modeling skills(cant say its wrong if its being deliberately done wrong from the start)
2: I like being different.
So Here's my start.

I want the engine to look like it's been around a while, not like it's just come out of the custom shop.

Hello!

Interesting start. And cut the c**p (here you go, nanny-bot!) with your modelling skills - we can see what's going on here! Big Smile How about painting some engine parts different shade of silver? Try to mix in a little grey, this way you can vary the colour subtly but visibly. Good luck with your machine, and have a nice day

Hi all philo426 it's funny we seem to have the same models.

Here is todays offering

Think I may do away with the fender decals, as it seems no amout of Micro sol or Micro set will take the wrinkles out of them.(don't know how you did it philo426)

Yes they were tricky!i actually had to float the large decal in the back in water and dunk the body in to get it in the correct position.

Hi all here is where I am at now. wont be finished today as we have family all day so I just sneaked a quick go this morning, only got the light lenses front and rear then the dome to go on and the HT leads, a little touching up where I have not been too neat with my brush painting, so should finish tomorrow.

kpnuts - your machine is looking good! But I'd say you could work a little on your photos, so that they are not so blurry. Your best bet here would be to use a tripod, and then put the camera on self-timer. This way you stady the camera and you also get rid of the problem of shaking the camera while pressing the trigger. Should give you much nicer photos. Good luck with your project and have a nice day

Make sure to put the camera on the "Macro" setting for a sharper image.

Hi all well it's finished (I was going to put HT leads on it but got fed up with them keep falling off so they can stay off) Philo426 I've used the macro setting and my new tripod and remote shutter release. I am using a Canon d10 DSLR

the rear lights are supposed to have little bullets in them but I like the look without them so left them off.

the top is supposed to be a complete dome but I thought that wasnt very practible so I made it a convertible
