Thanks Mike.  Yeah, I'd love to have a new generation car to build, too!  I know for a fact my scratch building skills couldn't handle the job of making a current car from what we have to work with!

What a short sighted situation for NASCAR and the participating sponsors. NASCAR is scrambling for audience, both at the races and on TV, but they're overlooking the upcoming fans - the kids who would love to build their favorite drivers' car. Just imagine how many "Little E" models would have been sold in the last decade!

As a NASCAR fan and a "big kid" I would also like to have well tooled kits of the new generation cars in my stash.

Really good looking #18 Jason; really shows off your skills!

Kinda true. I know that until they were "officially licensed" by Nascar, they couldn't make the little Nascar sticker that goes on top of the fender in front of the driver window.

I heard that Revell dropped the NASCAR models because all the sponsors wanted royalties for their trademarks being on the model.

Thanks vol!  I used sewing needles for the hood pins.

That and the diecast market being what it was. That is a well built car! What did you use for the hood pins, I noticed you added that detail as well.

Looks great!  The dropoff in the popularity of NASCAR seemed to hit the model industry several years ago, and I do miss the regular new releases of the good old days.  I also heard that NASCAR was asking too much for license rights that contributed to drop off in kits.

Thank you, Seabe!   To be honest, it's a bit hard to come by these kits here these days.  I have to rely on ebay and what not.

That's a niiiiice build there, Jason! Great work on opening up...

Every time a see a Nascar model, I am unimpressed with it not being available locally. I will definitely have to take that up with a friend I have in the States.

Submitted for your approval.....

This is my recently completed Monogram NASCAR Monte Carlo.  I used Slixx decals to create Bobby Labonte's Interstate Batteries ride.  I added plumbing and wiring to the engine, wiring and seat belts to the interior, and I also opened the trunk to add the fuel system.  This is by far the most work I have put into a kit.  I hope you all enjoy seeing it as much as I enjoyed building it!
