Posted by Scratchbuilder725 on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 6:28 PM

Working on a 1/25 fire truck, just started on the cab and such. Let me know what you think!

Scale Drawings I made from reference pictures.

Cab with headlights and grill

Front Bumper with side light cutout and bumper hoselay.

Cab bumper location holes and LED lighting holes.

Always inspiring to see scratch-built vehicles!

I'm guessing (by the tiny photos visible on you workboard) that it's a pumper...any idea as to the manufacturer of the prototype? Also, is it your local FD, or just a design you fancy? ["Details, man, we need details...!"]

Yes its a 2000 Ferrara Custom Pumper, it is for a local FD, i'll donate it when complete. If you look at some of my other posts i like to build and donate to police and fire departments. I created the scale drawing using reference photos and a proportion using a known dimension.

Hello!

Great project - lots of work ahead of you, too! Just be careful to plan it throughly! Good luck with your build and have a nice day

Finally a fire truck build. I will be following your progress and it's looking very good so far.

I would just love to model old fire trucks from the 40's thru the 60's but nothing is available. The only one out there is the Heller 1/24 Delahaye Type 103 Bonneville ladder truck.

Too many models to build, not enough time in a lifetime!!

If you like the older trucks you can always use a resin or kit cab and scratch build the rear body.
