i did start doing that, but at 1/24 scale, the barge would be huge. they currently sit of 50% of the barge

Nice collection of models. Lots of work involved with all the conversions. Now you need to scratch build the ferry/ barge or dock like the first pic to display them on.

This is my recreation of the Top Gear (UK) special travel episode across Bolivia. For something different, i made them as they started out, rather than at the end. My models are all 1/24 scale.
Jeremy's Range Rover is Aoshima and was converted to LHD by cutting the dash to pieces and gluing it back together backwards and i added extra gauges.
Hammond's Toyota is Italeri. i added inner door structure and the soft top is made from tissue. I also changed the front panel from square to round to represent the first gen style grille.
May's Suzuki is Fujimi and was made from the Jimny soft top, which i built a hard top for it. converted it to RHD and a few minor details like the front tow socket. Steel rims from 'the parts box'.
The all have correct bolivia license plates.
