This is fantastic! One of my all time favorite Bond vehicles! I remember having the Corgi Die-cast as a kid. I will have to pick up both versions!

She was only a whiskey maker, but he loved her still.

Thanks, she looks even better now that I can see her from the other angles.

I hope you'll show us what the street version looks like built up!

As promised, here are more pics. Thanks guys. And yes, this is the base from the Bandai Falcon kit with my sand technique. This is a brand new kit from Fujimi that was released this past December, 1/24 scale. Beautiful kit. Street version just came out last week. I have one of those on the way as well.

And she's done! Here is a sneak peak at the finished kit. An absolute joy to build. Fujimi really hit the nail on the head with this kit. Beautiful detail, crisp molding, near perfect parts fit. Cant wait until the street version arrives in a few weeks. It would have been nice if Fujimi had included some sort of stand for this kit though. As is I used the base from Bandai's Falcon kit.

I'll add more pictures to a gallery very soon.

Just got a charge on my PayPal and an email from HLJ that the street version of the Lotus Esprit has just been released and will be shipping in the next day or so! About $38, a lot cheaper than what the old Nichimo kit sells for!

My initial idea is an ocean floor base with bubbles. Big Smile

Looking forward to seeing your model build up!  Do you have an idea for a stand, since the kit lacks one?  Ocean floor maybe?  An ocean "cube" with the SUBROC missile plume suspending the car off the bottom?  I'm sorry if I'm causing trouble.  It's what I do, you know...  Devil

I'd bet money that someone will be cross kitting this and the roadgoing version to make the car in mid-transformation, i.e. wheels starting to retract.  Either that or one with full transformation capability.

James Bond's Lotus Esprit Sub kit-WIP
Posted by robiwon on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 10:30 AM

Well while waiting for warmer weather and parts to arrive for another project I figured I would start on this, the all new tool from Fujimi, James Bond's Lotus sub car from The Spy Who Loved Me. Its a simple curbside (seaside?) kit with a basic tub interior. All the parts are crisply molded in various colored plastic. The body and window louvers are very nice. All lights are clear lenses with separate chrome buckets. Door panels are molded in place and are the only low spot in the kit, lacking detail. Fujimi has also announced there will be a street version released later this month, probably not as a Bond car though.

Got most of the body assembled and primered and the first few coats of white laid down.

Base white applied-

And on a side note, here is Fujimi's soon to be released (this month) street version of the above kit!!
