1/24 Tamiya Aston Martin DBS
Posted by Kiwi on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 12:40 PM

This is my first attempt at a vehicle, finally branching out from 1/48 aircrft...

The engine compartment was a lot of fun to build but my enthusiasm for weathering and aging aircraft engines got away on me before I realized that a self-respecting Aston Martin owner would never let their 6.0 V12 become this dirty... The interior was fun despite not being able to see it well through the windshield.

I managed to completely ruin the front light covers with superglue fumes so need to carefully extract and clean them still. White was incredibly hard to paint but by the third attempt it came up pretty well.

Being my dream car it was fun to build. I think I will do another sometime soon and try to be more careful...

Question ;

 Has anyone walked up and introduced himself as " Bond , James Bond ". Everytime I see an Aston , that's what goes through my rattled brain . Oh ! Nice job by the way . And clean up that engine compartment . A dirty powerplant on an Aston , Hmmmph !

 I can build you a 1/24 presssure washer to stand next to it LOL.LOL.LOL. Still a darned fine job .       T.B.

Great job on your Aston Martin Kiwi, looks really sharp. I know what you mean about painting on a white color, seems to be the hardest color to build up to a even coat. I've thought about getting this kit, my local Hobbytown USA has it for $69.99 USD. Cool
