my 1st build in 35 years! (( Jeep Wrangler ))
Posted by Old_Fart on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 3:45 PM

Ok, try not to laugh to hard! But here is my first build in 35+ years. After buying a real 2017 Jeep Wrangler (Willys Edition) back in november I wanted to build a model of it.

And now i find myself hooked on it all over again...hopefully my skills will get better with each build :)

What exactly is it we should laugh at? Looks good for a first build in 35+. You certainly coul have done far, far worse lol.

Welcome aboard!

You see..... it is just like riding a bike!

Dont worry about the thumbprint, paint it Rust , and call it "Battle Damage"

Thank you everyone for the encouragement ! Still not happy with it but i can do it over (( I bought 3 of the same kits to do different versions )) Two of the biggest issues I'm having now are my eyes ...so I'm getting better lighting and Crying Glasses. And the other is my hands are not as steady now as they were.

Quite a few of us have the same problems. Shakey hands is a common problem. Rest your hands on the bench while working. Eyesight failing, cheap fix is drugstore reading glasses. A little more expensive fix is Multi-Power Head Magnifiers. Hang in there. The more you build the more ways you'll find to overcome problems.

Excellent. I wish I could find models of some of the cars I have owned. Ok I'm opening myself up for reasons why I can't I suppose...

Finished the same kit about a month ago myself. Yours looks great, fun kit to build. If I could figure out how to post pictures from my cell phone I would post pics of my builds on this forum.

I bought this many years ago, in the early 2000s, when they reissued it as the old Hogan's Heroes Jeep. Decent kit, but that one forgot to include the spare and you had to send away for it.
