I just wanted to say something about this kit . You may not like it , but here goes . To be honest here . The old flat fendered Cobra - 289 by either M.P.C. or A.M.T. was a much better model .
This one probably suffers from age and ease of molding . The suspension parts have to be clamped seriously to fit together . It's almost like they are trying to get 1/25 and 1/24 parts to fit together normally .
That and too much chrome where it doesn't belong . Door latches , but no door inner panels . Even the Monogram 1/43 offering from years back did better on both these areas . So much so , I was able to open both doors and the trunk on this little beauty .
I will not be doing so on this model ! The hood is so loose that I have to add a .010 strip to the outside edge to get a tighter fit . Maybe when I paint it , it will tighten up more . There is no real clear way to mount the dash . Many will get in trouble here .
For those of you whom are truly dyslexic , Please ask for help . The instructions only deal with one side of certain suspension parts . This even confused me momentarily.
I am certainly glad I didn't pay full price for this kit . I would've asked for my money back . It's NOT for beginners ! . T.B.
