TB thank you. I like to hear those types of stories about the real cars .one of these days I 'll build me one of those junk yard find rust buckets you see in magazines lol
Nick.
Ay ! !
Gimme dem Keys . Vroom ! Vroom !
Very Nice Chebby , My friend down the street just brought a " Barn Find " one home .Guess what ?It's got what's left of a 348 and the Anniversary Gold body and Cream top .
Interior is better than he expected . Only the driver's side of the seat shows any real wear .The rest ? Well just the usual discoloration and hey , it had all four wheel covers that matched !
LMT thnk you this kit is a lot of fun maybe cause I like the 58
LMAO!!!! Dude...that thing is....AWESOME!!!! Just beautiful!
Thanks for posting the pics!!!
Cheers, LeeTree Remember, Safety Fast!!!
Ah, decals!
My purchase was an open box from ebay. I was aware it didnt have a decal sheet. Didn't realize the seat decals were on it
Hunter thank you the kit its self is really nice I bought another one. it wasnt the color I was planning on but plan B worked out. I hope to start the last 50's car soon.
Crown,
An absolutely wonderful job sir!! I really like everything you did with this kit. The paint work looks amazing. Looking forward to the next one.
Hunter
mitsdude thank you. The only masking I did on this kit were the door pannels .the seats are the decals that came with the kit.
Nice job!!
I recently completed this same kit.
Painted it white over yellow.
Interior was turquoise/blue/white. The striped seats were a definite challange. I'd be interested it how you did yours. For me it was lots of taping/painting cycles and praying the tape didnt peel off the previous paint job.
unwarypaladin thank you and yes to the BMF,but I use enamels so I give at least a couple weeks drying time.
That looks fantastic! Did you apply the BMF directly to the gloss coated finish?
Would you believe I've yet to try BMF? Maybe this would be a good kit to give it a go.
Thanks, Nick.
plasticjunkie I really appreciate that thank you
Greg thank you. you will like this kit BMF is to a minimum
I've been wanting to build a car, saw this kit at Hobby Lobby a few days ago.
You did a smashing job on it, Nick. Thank you for providing some incentive to me to try a car, after all these years.
Oh yea baby!!
Where are the keys to start that 58?
Too many models to build, not enough time in a lifetime!!
Plasticjunkie yes I will try
Fox thank you that means a lot!
Well its done this is the best chevy kit yet from rough start to smooth finish the painting part lol.thank you for your comments and for watching this build.
Outstanding as usual Nick. Absolutely love the color.

I keep hitting "escape", but I'm still here.
That looks awesome! You need to chrome the Chevy script on the hood and trunk to make it look ever better.
Thank you sir
Hi,
That looks great.
the chrome is done .now some decals and this puppy is finished
ok the glass is in so is the interior test fit chassis needs some more chrome
Thank you TB getting a break from the planes and tanks with a bit of color and shine the 60’s surfer music helps
Awesome interior ! !
plasticjunkie thank you its been a while started to fidle with the 58 BMF finished up and started on moldings this a.m.
Rangerj I didnt know that thanks.
Anyone know if that is a new casting of the old AMT kit, but with the doors molded to the body? The 348 started life as a truck engine. The 348 with tri-power (3 dueces) was used in 1958, 1959, and 1960 in the Chevy Impalas. I'm partial to the 58 and 60. The 59 had a tendancy to lift in the back at high speeds!!!
crown r n7 thank you sir its model master metallic blue T53091. I thin gloss paints more then flats and spray at low psi.

That's the secret of getting a smooth coat. Extra thin allows it to level out to produce a smooth finish. Polishing with Novus or any automotive haze remover will further enhance the gloss and smoothness.
Can't wait to see more.
Sweet looking Chevy Crown. Your paint looks fantastic, looks like no orange peel but smooth glass. What is it, enamel?
There is a 58 Impala 4 door sitting in a parking lot a couple of miles away from me and looks pretty straight. I do like the 59 hardtop more though, love those HUGE fins.
