Also note that the 67 Impala SS could come with a 427 CID big block and there were a few special colors applicable to the SS Impala 427. You could do a special SS Impala for a special little lady!!!

Yeah this one is supposed to be the 427.  She fell in love with the Impalla from a TV show.  That one is a 4 door with a 500 engine in it.  The interior is black and tan (camel?). The interior doors, ceiling, dash and rug are all tan.  The seats are black, oh and it's a bench seat and it's an automatic.

The AMT model is a 2 door and buckets and a 4 speed.  So I decided to do a hybrid, incorporating items from the TV car into the model.  I am also taking the doors and the trunk off so I can make them open and close.  The trunk area I'm actually planning on using as a place for a circuit board and LEDs, micro switches and batteries for the lights.  I am going to light the interior, all four headlights and the turn signals.

For everything that opens I am planning on installing mini rare earth magnets to hold stuff closed.  If I can figure out an easy way to do it I would love to have the interior lights come on when the doors open.

From working on guitars I have sand paper from 400 to 12000 grit so I'm hoping I can get that mirror like finish.

I'm planning on using real metal for the chrome trim.  I have already purchased an Impalla photoetch kit, an aluminium distributor with wires kit, a high detail guage radio and fan control kit, and a few other little things to perk it up.

I want to get a seatbelt photo etch kit too.

Thank you for the suggestions!!!

The exterior of the car will all be black...so maybe that will help.

If primer will not fill the indentations then use automotive spot putty like bondo brand or 3M acrylic spot putty. The Squadron green filler putty can also work. I like to thin it a little with lacquer thinner. Use lacquer thinner made for models, not real automotive or household lacquer thinner . Sand the putty with  600 or 800 grit wet/dry sandpaper with water (wet).

Hi;

What I do there is this . I spray a cleaned and prepped hood with Krylon brand primer .Then sand it from front to back , till under running water it's smooth and glossy without those " Ghost " marks .Then paint in a color of your choice ! T.B.

Shnake

How do you upload pics?

Go down the list of forums.

There is a big block of forums labeled Feedback, Help and Testing.  In that block is a forum called Technical Assistance.  Posting of pictures has been a frequent thread in that forum.  Look at ones that already exist. If no help there, then start a new thread by asking the question there.

Hello!

What you need is "Filler-Primer" or "Spray-Filler" - basically a thick paint in a spray can, that can fill the imperfecions in the surface. Sand the surface smooth after it dries throughly. Motip makes one that I can recommend. Good luck with your build and have a nice day

Would a black primer, at least under the hood, help?

the primer coat may help to hide it. Can you post a pic of the hood

Hey,

Ok I'm making this model for my daughter (It's her dream car).  I was never a car model guy always did planes...

The hood of the car has what I would call telegraph marks in it.  Meaning the underside detail bleads through the smooth top.

Ehat is the best way of getting rid of this?

Thank you

Shnake
