Some of my builds - Kensar

I'm new to the forum and posted a few times in other forums, where another modeler asked about my car builds.  I have been building cars since 1994.  I took a break from modelling for a couple of years and now have been building aircraft to 'broaden my horizons' and keep things interesting by learning new techniques.  I still have a couple of cars on the back burner that I want to finish someday.

First is an Abarth Carrera, 1/24 scale, made from a resin transkit and a Fujimi Porsche 356.

Next is a Gunze Ferrari 250 GTO.  This was one of my 'holy grail' kits because at the time, no one was making this subject and kits were very rare.

Next is a 1/12 scale Ferrari 375 plus, the 1954 LeMans winner from MG Models.  I went all out scratchbuilding parts for this one, as the kit parts were really poor.  The body is the biggest piece of resin I have ever seen.  Must weight close to 5 pounds.  I made a master wheel rim on my lathe and cast four of them in resin.  The hubs and spinners are turned aluminum.  First wire wheels I ever made.  The lights are turned on teh lathe and have little light bulbs in them.

This model won an award at the Southern NNL contest in Atlanta a few years ago.

There's a shot of the 1971 Martini LeMans team.  Fisher Pink Pig (#23), 1971 winner (#22) by Fujimi, and the best looking 917 ever made, by LeMans Miniatures (#21).

And last, a Tamiya 1/12 Porsche 910 kit I modified heavily from a coupe to an open racer to portray a fictional racecar.

Chassis before putting the body on.  The chassis has fiberglass texture I added by gluing a mesh-like material to the plastic.  Loads of scratchbuilt parts.

superdetailed engine

So, that's what I have to show.  Of course I have many more models (+50) built, more Porsches than anything else - I was a Porsche nut.  Right now, aircraft have my attention, but I will finish some more cars in the future.

Thanks for looking.
