Yes, I'm still looking around online trying to find stuff. There's not a whole lot that needs to be changed to make it accurate, but the air cleaner is one thing. Rims are another, and I think I need to find a different intake as well. I'm pretty sure the kit comes with the dual carb set up, and I have a single with an edlebrock intake.

I landed up finishing this up yesterday. I landed up pulling my weird spark plug wires, and just leaving them out. The fit on this kit is kind of crappy, or maybe it's just me. But the hood does not want to fit on properly no matter how I try, lol. Not a big deal since this is just a practice one. I think I will do a lot better at the bigger one. Here's a few pics.

I need to find a different shade of red as well. It's not dark enough.

Looking good so far. I agree with the others about the plug wires, you want some wire that can be formed. I usually just buy the pre-wired distributors from Morgan automotive detail (M.A.D.) anymore. Your 1:1 car is very nice as well. I am very sorry to hear of the loss of your father. I dread the day that we all know will come. I look forward to seeing the results of both kits. Very nice work on the Camaro, you have a great looking car. I agree with you on the plug wires, they need to tuck in more. You can use small diameter coated electrical wire, it will lay and mold itself to fit closer to the engine, I drill holes in the engine to accept the wires and tuck any extra wire in.

Looking very good, I think you did an amazing job on the interior so far, part of why I build tanks, close the hatches and make gun and desiel noises, seriously that is a great looking car. BTW thanks for showing it is ok to paint the paint stand. Ain't got that part figgered out yet LOL.

You can usually find me in the aircraft section of the forum, but it's time for me to get my feet wet in the world of autmotive modeling.

To make a long story short I recently lost my Dad. His most prized possesion.......a 1969 Z/28 of course. Which he gave to me 10 years ago. Yes I still have the car, only way she leaves me is when I give her to my daughter. Anywho, I bought the 1/12 scale, and the smaller 1/25. I figured the smaller one would be good practice, and let me know what I was getting into before trying the big one that I would like to build in honor of my Dad.

So I'm going to over load you with pics. I've been taking progress pics as I go, but have just now started the thread!

What I started with:

Started on the engine, which I'm trying to make it roughly look like the engine in my Camaro. Mine has the flat black valve covers, timing chain cover and air cleaner with the Chevrolet lettering in red.

Some other stuff painted.

More progress on the engine.

Installed in the chassis.

Where I left off for today. I'm using stretched sprue for the spark plug wires, and I'm finding out it's not the easiest thing to work with, lol. They are a bit on the long side. I should of used metal twist tie pieces instead. I may still change it out.
