Your Junkers pics are having a problem.
Thanks, and thanks for letting me know. It's fixed now.

Jimmy Flintstone makes a few of the old cabover bodies in resin. I would advise looking at some reviews and/or getting other opinions before you purchase them. I bought a 40's White cab with the idea of using it on a Lindberg Dodge 700 chassis, but the rendition was so clunky (IMHO) I wound up selling it rather than try to correct all the issues. You might not object to the things that bothered me, and I can't speak to quality of the other bodies they offer. You can find them easily on eBay.
Happy Modeling!

Might try shapeways to see if they would have any bodies that would work in combination with other parts and pieces.
Well, the cabovers I'm talking about arent from the 30s but htey do have lots of curves and long lines. Looks like no one makes the kits, so I might be stuck wiht diecast, if anything. If you know of plastic kits in 1/35 or larger, please post a link. Thx
Yes, this type of tow truck and even older. You have a lot to show for your time. Your Junkers pics are having a problem.
That puts me in mind of the 1949 Chevrolet or GMC cabovers, we had two of them. Then below is a link to a tow truck built on a 42 Chevrolet COE.

I have a die cast of the 51, but I've never seen a plastic model. The cab was exactly the same as the pickup cab, just mounted higher, and the fenders and grill might have been the same also. The hood made up most of the difference and the fenders intruded on the doors.
Hello!
When I first saw this thread I started thinking about the truck from Terminator II
Was that a beuaty and boy did they wreck it up... But I digress
In 1:24/1:25 you have one or two wrecker bodies from Italeri:
Now you'd have to combine this body with a cabover cab. Freightliner would be best, since the chassis is Freightliner anyhow, deep at heart:
You can also take a Peterbilt 352, a Kenworth K100 or maybe a crackerbox Dodge.
OR ELSE - you can go for a resin cab. Prepare for even more work and even more money to spend. But then you get many new choices to make:

With trucks like this one:
Or this one:
Any choice yo umake I'd sure like to see WIP pictures of it. Hope it halps and have a nice day

All comments and critique welcomed. Thanks for your honest opinions!

Art Deco? Isn't that 1920s and 1930s?
Does anyone make decent kits of the old fashioned, hardy-looking wrecker tow trucks that look kind of art-deco?
