Revell classic 1950s German Trucks- Battery question ?
Posted by Wirraway on Saturday, December 30, 2017 4:38 AM

I have already built the Opel Blitz and just now starting on the Bussing 8000 & Hanomag Trailer.  I have the Krupp Titan in the stash.  My question is, were there any more in this series ?  The blurb from Revell states "Revell have started a new range of oldies with one model from each firm" (1997) Internet search hasnt revealed any more than the above 3 trucks.  Anybody know any different ?

No, you have what is currently available. During the late 1990s, Revell offered or announced a number of truck models. It seemed that they were going to offer some incredible subjects regularly. The antique Germany truck subjects, the Neoplan and London bus series (I have heard rumours that the American represention would be a school bus), the Beall tanker trailer were very encouraging.

I guess techically, they can still add to those series that they annouced.

Revell has just released 1.24th scale farm tractor kit.

I was wondering if anyone has experience of where the battery would go.  Not included in the kit so I will have to scratch one.  I have been detailing the engine a bit with fuel and coolant lines and electrical leads.  Not sure if the battery would go:

A.  In the engine bay ? (not a lot of room)

B.  On the Firewall (this seems most logical)

C.  Inside the cabin ? (under a seat)

D.  Somewhere behind the cab on the frame maybe ?

I'm sure someone who builds a lot of trucks will have the answer.

Hi Wirraway ;

 In answer to your Question . Many were under the seat and a whole lot were in a box just under the floor on the drivers side , available through a flat sheet metal panel under the door ! Others were in weather resistant boxes behind the cab .
