Finished Tamiya Nissan 350Z
Posted by RichfromSask on Saturday, January 27, 2018 7:22 PM

My first auto build in over 20 years,  so a little rusty on the finishing,  as evidenced by some sanding scratches and orange peel.  Used mostly Vallejo acrylics on the interior and undercarriage and Testors spray can to duplicate Nissan’s Super Black finish.  Oversprayed with Testors Gloss clear coat.  Polished out both color and clear coats with LMG sanding sheets,  then polished the clear with Auto Glym Super Resin,  finished with Mother’s Carnauba wax.

Beautiful finish Rich.  Who makes that kit?

Really nice.

Thanks,

John

Thanks for that guys.  Now if I can just learn to stop sanding through the paint on panel edges. Tongue Tied. Kit went together flawlessly except for the window fit.  It must have been warped,  because it just refused to lay flush against the headliner.  You can see the gap in the second picture from the bottom.
