Any body else building a Bib Deuce ??

Just wondered if anyone else is tackling the new 1/8 scale Big Deuce/highboy. I'm thinking about channeling mine, fenderless with the flathead, of course. I remember doing it to the original issue (no flathead back then, Pontiac engine only) , and it turned ouy pretty good. Almost as much work as doing the real car, but luckily plastic's easier to cut ! You have to shorten the frame at the rear, relocate the gas tank, and cut a section out of the trunk floor and all side interior pieces and shorten the firewall. lower the radiator and grille shell. Hmmm maybe I'll just build the highboy after all !! I Also had to fabricate a hinge retainer for the trunk lid since the hinges are in the kit, but the hinge retainers are not supplied. Maybe that's why there is no mention of an operating trunk lid made in the instructions. After thinking about it for a while, I came up with a super simple solution that works fine. Maybe all those years of modelling are good for something after all !

Not building it personally but sounds like a cool project. Some pics would be cool if you can get them.

I recently bought the re-issued kit (I managed to avoid buying it on previous releases). Mine is the one with the Pontiac V8 though. I noticed the hinges for the trunk but didn't spot that there was nothing to retain them.
