Nuts to all but my Norfolk terrier is laughing
Hi pathvet 9 :
Your thread caught my eye , Because , I got that in the clear bodied version , Waay Back .
I painted it like I did my M.E.262 , Splotches of color and big clear areas . Why ? Well , so I could show off all the Greeblies I put under the car body !
It is an impressive kit , But , I recommend being careful with the suspension . It can be weak . That is , when done , a heavier than normal car kit !
Darn - I forgot to continue the thread on this but I have since received both Petty Blue and STP Red (from HobbyWorld - good service and reasonable shipping costs from NH) and have started using the paint. Goes on well but I am not to the point of clear coating yet. It dries flat.
Also, another friend suggested that I first put down a light silver coat after primer to bring out the colors so I got a Siver Zero Pasint also and it goes down well and shows imperfections that need further sanding.
Thanks to all for the help.
pathvet9Tried HobbyWorld and Zero paints are backordered, bummer. I found Petty Blue but not anything called STP Red. Is there another name for it?
Gravity Colors carries a Petty blue. I've heard mixed reviews about service but my first order showed up within a few days. My second order says processing for 3 weeks now so jury is still out.
Anyhow - here's the link: https://www.gravitycolors.com/product/petty-blue/
I really want these guys to succeed.
Thanks,
John

Thanks for the link.
Gulf lt blue and orange ordered!
Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
Zero Paints offer both colors. HobbyWorld USA carries Zero stuff. I've dealt with them a few times and had great experiences.
I am starting the MPC 1:16 Petty 1973 Dodge Charger in "Petty Blue" and "STP Red". ostensibly a light blue and bright red.
Does anyone have a lead on these paints or should I just guess?
I did read that Petty Blue was a formula they concocted when they ran out of blues.
The plastic in the kit is supposed to be Petty Blue but I hate to leave raw plastic.
