So much fun building these old AMT kits, a revisit to my totally happy childhood (not far from Lions DS) with my big brothers slapping these $1.29 kits together with the tube glue and crappy bottle paint. I love the look of these early stock drag cars with their bench seats, steel wheels and front white walls, the innocent low-cost crazy dangerous early days of drag racing...
This one’s built pretty much OOB other than a little wiring under the hood. Assembly was smooth other than my poor windshield and back window assembly execution (next time dry fit twice, glue once, oh well). Paint used was Tamiya metallic blue rattle can lacquer over lacquer primer with Tamiya lacquer clear coat. All trim was masked and airbrushed using Alclad polished aluminum over Testors black gloss enamel. AMT decals went on really nicely.
