Recreating a Porsche Windscreen
Posted by CNJMan on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 9:42 AM

Hi All --

I have a 1:43 Porsche 911 Cabriolet model that is missing its windscreen.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_Panamericana

I thought about replacing it with clear plastic glazing material I have on hand.

Has a technique for that been published before? Does anyone have any experience doing that?

I tried laying out the shape with some demtal floss and then transferring that to a paper template which I used to transfer the outline to the glazing material, but it seems there must be a better way to do that.

Any ideas?

Many thanks,

Ed

Hi;

 At that scale it is not easy . But if you can make a paper pattern then use the plastic that regular plastic glue won't work on . Curve it in hot water and use white glue to mount it .That's what I did with my Cobra ( the old Monogram 1/43 kit )
