Rob,
I've got one, but I have serious plans for it - If I wasn't so serious about it, I'd let you have mine. You might want to have a look at one I've prepared earlier - I've posted a picture on rongeorge - have a look at:
http://rongeorge.com/modules/Gallery/Motorcycles
Would you like me to have a look around and see if I can find one over here? I'd be surprised if I couldn't find one. I'm sure it wouldn't cost much for postage...I'm not intererested in any sort of profit - so don't think I'm up to anything nasty.
I'll make some calls tomorrow and be in touch.
Cheers, mate

Yes Lee, that would be great. Your models look superb. Do you make the mirrored stands too?

BTW, if anyone is viewing this thread I am interested in the model kit, not a ready-assembled one (I have seen the French 1/24 scale models, very nice too).

Cheers

Thank you for the compliment. I spent many, many hours on that bloody model. It looked great. Sold it a few years ago. I got a pretty good price.
Now - about the mirrored stands - I don't mean to sound dense, but can you elaborate?
I'll make some calls tomorrow and see if I can locate the model for you.

Rob,
I went and purchased one of the Tamiya 1/12 scale Kenny Roberts Sr. late 70's/early 80's Yamaha YZR500 kits (the one with the rider) for you today.
Don't panic - for me it's a win-win situation........if you want the model, then I've done you a favor. If you don't want it, I get to keep a great model of a bike I really like. I can't lose either way..
Email me at the link on the bottom of my post and we can discuss the issue.
See ya!

Cheers, LeeTree

Rob,
I've got the model for you. How do you want to work this? I called everywhere and finally found one. They're (apparently) no longer on the current Tamiya catalogue listing.
It was $45AUD, which is 18.7GBP. Sound ok?
Let me know.

Cheers, LeeTree

Speaking of Kenny Roberts, in 1986 I was travelling to San Angelo, Tx from Atlanta, and I stopped to visit the Museum at Talladega Speedway. I could hear something "whinning" around turn one, just behind the museum, and the director said I could walk up to the wall and look if I wanted to. There were three yellow motorcycles running in stagger-trail around the race track at mind numbing speed... the director told me one of them was Kenny Roberts and they were doing some kind of test for Yamaha.

Thanks for the memories. Smile [:)]

Take care,
Frank
