Does anyone know why plastic model manufacturers have never issued a “bullet nose” Studebaker model? I searched for one but could only find the Starliner or Avanti. I would think it would very popular among model builders.

If you go to the sister mag's site you'll find that car on many " I wish to see List " Somehow This is one Never done in Resin or Plastic .I would be happy with a resin Trans-Kit with the interior .T.B.

AMT had announced a 50 Studebaker back in the late 90s iirc, but for some unknown reason dropped it. I think it would have sold well.

Ask me about Speedway Decals
I would certainly buy a couple. Would also like to see a reissue of Johan's Larks and (dreaming on) an early 50's pickup from Revell or Aoshima. Love those old Studes!

I can't help with your question, but I see you are from Indiana. Have you been to the Studebaker Museum in South Bend? I've lived there all of my 62 yrs and only 2 yrs ago a freind dragged me there.
It is a great place for anywhere, let alone South Bend. I recommend it to all Stude fans. You might find it worth the drive even from the south end of the State.
I have two kits of the later one, the early sixties one. One stock, the other a racing version. Down aways in the queue, though, so will not get them on bench for awhile.

If they can make the 1/18 Version they can surely make a 1/25 scale kit
Hi Guys,
Sorry for the delayed response, I've been down with the flu. Greg, I'm from South Bend, born and raised on the Westside. I think we went to the Studebaker Museum when I was in grade school but haven't been back since. It's definetly on my list to do this summer. I am planning on asking someone (although I'll be surprised if anyone can answer it) if there is a reason as to why they haven't allowed the use of the bullet nosed Stude. It seems like it would do really well production wise. I did look at the resin body and it's certainly intriguing!
Well they allowed.the 1/18 diecast I posted so that should not be a barrier.
Excellent point. Maybe they restricted it to diecast? Either way, it’s odd that a plastic model manufacturer hasnt jumped at the opportunity to produce one.
Not many Indiana-ians here, your the first 'Bender' I've seen. Welcome!
If I recall, the Stude Museum has some assembly kits as well as diecast in the giftshop, too. BTW, if you belong to virtually any local pubic library (South Bend, Mishawaka, Penn Harris), you used to be able to go the your library branch and get free passes for one day to the Stude Museum. I'd check around, make sure this is still the case.
Philo, I wondered what that was you posted. Diecast. I sure like it. Great color.
Yes Road Champs diecast...got it new at Big Lots for 10 bucks about 10 years ago.Such a bargain!
