the black areas on the clear are usually marked with a frosted area or a feint line. both pretty hard to see. i usually just use a sharpie and draw it on

Try creating a mask for your windshield with Tamiya tape and then test fit it to see how it looks and then adjust it accordingly.  When the mask looks right, burnish it down really good and paint it.

Windshield edge trim
Posted by Chaosramda on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 12:38 PM

Hi everyone, I tried searching the forum but didnt see this topic. I'm sure it's been asked before so forgive me.

The car I'm doing has a single piece front and rear windshield. I wanted to do the edges in black. But there is no edge on the clear plastic to outline for a mask. The pictures show black windshield trim but the windshied isnt edged for the trim. All the videos I've watched the windshileds have come with some sort of inside edge for that trim to outline in the mask, or the foil. or in some cases a premade mask in the kit.

No idea how to get good edges or even the rounded edges around the windshield.

thanks.
