Wow! What colour are we looking at? It looks superb!

Thanks! That would be good ol fashioned olive drab. Model Master Acryl. My daughter wanted a green, I didnt, but then I thought about it and the idea hit me that an OD Ferrari might look pretty dang cool. I cant recall ever seeing one.

Finished, finally! So I'm not 100% pleased with the final result, there were a few snags here and there, but overall, not too bad for my second car model. Let me know what you guys think, where I did good, where I need to improve. I am always open to constructive criticism.

Yes that's going superbly! I've recently finished the Nissan GT R-35 version from Liberty Walk!

I know there are some areas that need a bit of improvement, but I'm coming along. This is only the 3rd car I have ever modelled, the first...we dont talk about, the second came out fantastic, it was the Tamiya Epson NSX. This one is a tad better than that. So I'm making progress, learning new and proper techniques and am pleased so far. Anyway, laid down my primer, sanded, then primed again. I love Tamiya fine surface primer, the finish comes out so smooth compared to other primers, just wish it wasnt so much money!

Finally got some work in guys. Been so busy, just had our second child, our baby girl! So I got the interior all finished up, put some flocking inside just to add that extra touch of realism. Added carbon fiber throughout the engine bay and on the chin and rear spoilers. Scale Motorsport High Def carbon weave. More work to do so stay tuned.

The brakes look great Reaper! I was going to suggest Scale Motorsports, but they don't have any templated decals for the 458 (they do have a set of carbon fiber decals and camo decals for the C7R which I now want). They do have various colors of carbon fiber decals which you could use to make your own. Take some Tamiya Tape or whatever brand you use and make a template and then transfer that to a piece of cardstock, manila folder, etc. and then trace the outline of the template onto the back of the decal sheet. Just remember to make sure that you have your template going in the right direction if you're making handed decals. It may take several tries to get one you like. Just an idea if you can't find a commercial option.

Does anyone know where I can get some 458 Italia templates? Need to cut some carbon fiber decals for the roof and engine bay components. I cant seem to locate anything online!

The drill/sanding stick produced a nice effect. Nice job.

Finished up the brake rotors, rears are done done, fronts still need paint on the second portion of the rotor. Calipers done in Zinc Chromate (NOT to be confused with GREEN zinc chromate). Rotor effects achieved by painting entire rotor flat black, then putting on a stick inserted into my dewalt drill and running a sanding stick across the the surface while running the drill. More to come!

So I did some modifications to the suspension to lower the car. I used .040" Evergreen polystyrene. Based on the scale conversion chart on the back of the package, .040" in 1/25 scale is equal to about a 1" drop. Also bolstered up the front chin spoiler by adding some polystyrene strips just to anchor it more solidly to the stock chassis. Stay tuned!

1/24 Fujimi Ferrari 458 Liberty Walk WIP
Posted by Reaper420 on Thursday, June 20, 2019 2:54 AM

Just started work on my Fujimi Ferrari 458 Italia with the Liberty Walk wide body kit from Hobby Design. Of course the Fujimi kit is not the best at all when it comes to the 458, but that's what I have my ROG 458 kit for! Here is my work so far, going smooth. Stay tuned for more!
