Camaro

Here's one for you automotive types - what's the definition of a "camaro" I've looked it up in three different dictionaries (Webster's, American Standard, and I've forgotten the name of the other one), and there is no reference to it in any of them. Is this a word that Chevrolet pulled out of thin air
