Everyone loves free stuff. At the Kit Collectors Swap Meet in Garden Grove CA I won as a door prize a Testor's re-issue of the ancient Hawk Alky Saltzer LSR. It is very toy-like so I decided to not spend anything on it and do a quick build without buying any materials.
My wife passes on to me her old nail polishes when she gets tired of the color or the polish gets too thick in the bottle. I used hardware store lacquer thinner from the garage and airbrushed a four color fade scheme plus clear polish. The intake stacks were made with tubing I had in my supplies stash. The four colors from nose to tail were Plugged in Plum, An Affair in Red Square, A Rose at Dawn Broke by Noon, and Charmed. (I wonder if there are people at cosmetics companies whose main job is just to come up with these names!)
Simple and free!
