I always run mine in the correct firing order.

Researching the actual firing order is a genius tip!

Drill one hole slightly smaller than the distributor, fill with adhesive and stick your wires in.  When dry, fan out the wires and cross every other wire over the top of the distributor, hiding the top of the distributor.  Or, look up the wiring pattern for the engine you are building, drill one hole in the distributor, fill with adhesive and insert your wires.  When dry, fan out your wires and insert them into the plug holes based on the diagram.

Not a bad tip. They may be a little "overscale" for 1/25. May be good for somewhat larger scales, maybe 1/20 or 1/16.

Hi;

 How many of you feel stopped when trying to figure out how to wire an engine?

      There's an easy way around it. Do you remember those narrow tiny pencils from trade shows. Those little erasers gave me the means.

      You take them out of the pencil after sticking stiff wires in the pattern of your distributer. Then you remove them from the pencil.Cut them so the top with the holes fits on the distributer shaft.

    The shaft? Why, stretched sprue. Then You insert the little wires you have .Don't forget to take insulation of the next larger sized wire to use as boots. Slide them on and insert the wires.

      Paint and enjoy the Ahs! from admirers! You use the same boot idea from the distributer for the Plugs. Simple ? Yes!  But good looking too!
