My dad got this at a yard sale for $1 about 5 years ago. It's the Revell Billy Carter Chevy in 1.25 scale. Partially painted and missing a few parts, it was a great quick project. It even came with a "Billy Beer" patch (ahhh, the 70's)! Gunze white, Krylon black for the chassis, and I subbed a wood front bumper for the plastic one. I left off the wood side rails. I was totally surprised the decals worked, it is a 43 year old kit; I clear coated them to be sure

Cool. I never saw that kit. Too funny. Nice job.
Thanks,

Thanks, y'all! I had never seen this kit either. It's interesting that a model company sponsored this truck and put out a kit of it promoting Billy; I was too way young then, but it seemed that he was kind of an embarrassment for President Carter. And to find a Billy Beer patch in it, that's so 70's! Not 15 years later, you couldn't get a NASCAR kit accurately marked if it had a beer sponsor.
Awesome! Real wood bumper is sure a nice touch.
After you mentioned the 70's, I almost couldn't believe it, had to look it up. Still pinching self. Seems like yesterday and also like 500 yrs ago.
It was a wild time. I watched the "Bad News Bears" awhile ago, that movie would NEVER happen today...
