Aoshima motorcycle kits

I have three Aoshima Motorcycle kits in my stash, however, I've never built one. I have the the Yamaha V-Max and HD Road King. Both of which I wished I owned, and both which look to be on par with Tamiya kits. Hope this helps.

Thank you for the replies much appreciated.. Being a tad on the older side Aoshima actually have some kits for bikes that I've personally owned... So would be nice to build them.. So thanks again I think I'll take a punt on some. 

I built up the Aoshima "Thunder Chopper" several years ago and I remember not being able to shake the feeling of deja vu during the project. It turned out that it was a rebox of an Imex "American Chopper" (Easy Rider) which I had built sometime back in the mid-90s.

What can I tell you about it? Typical Japanese manufacturing - decent quality, minimal flash, light parting lines, and good fit. It has the typical areas that many modelers feel need to be improved with most bikes (spoked wheels, drive chain, slightly oversized tubing for simulating wiring, etc.), but overall, the Imex/Imai/Aoshima bikes were fun to build.

You might try YouTube and see if anyone has done a build of the kit your looking at.

Their ship models were nice.

I recently built an Italeri 1/9 Norton 750 Commando. Very nice model.

One challenge. There was a rubber wiring harness. It was about a foot long and had taps coming out every which way. I made use of a diagram of the real thing- otherwise I would never have figured it out. Low voltage positive ground too.

I have not bought any of their bikes, but their car kits are nice, so I’d expect the bikes to be the same.  Just check the vintage - there might be some older tools that are not up to snuff.

I don't have any experience with them personally, but they do build up nice from what I've seen.
