KamAZ 54115 (ICM 1:35)
Posted by Vladimir on Saturday, July 25, 2020 5:04 AM

Hello.

I want to introduce you russian truck (tractor unit) KamAZ from ICM (№35001, KamAZ 4310).

The stock kit is a high-sided army truck but i wanted civil tractor unit (KamAZ 54115). From kit i used chassis and cabin. Wheels and sleepers cab parts are from ARMOR35. Photoetched Microdisign (#035218)

Army version of truck has round headlights on cabin and another radiator grille. I fixed it.

Army version of truck has long chassis, so i made it shorter. Also i added pneumatic hose and electrical wiring along chassis...

...modified engine (unfortunatly it is hidden because of cabin)...

... pneumatic outlet , headlight on cabin , cooling tank and some another parts i made from plastic, wire.

Interior i made from paper, plastic and wire.

Bumper and front headlights was made from metal, wire and clear plastic.

Finally i used tamiya color, MIG pigments , MIG fixer and custom made decals (i chose Belarus license plate)

I hope you like it. thank you.

Vladimir

Hello!

It'a a beauty - very realistic. In Poland we sometimes see trucks like that. It would be more familiar, though, if you left the round headlights, old grille, and made it a truck hauling coal short distance - that's what KamAZ trucks do the most here where I live.

Anyhow, a beauty - thanks for sharing and have a nice day

Paweł

Very nice!  Is the cab extension part of the kit, aftermarket, or scratch built?
