New Ray and Jada offer 1/32nd scale trucks and trailers. 1/32 scale is close to 1/35 scale, they can be paired together without much difference in visual scale mismatch.  If you think your choices in those scales are limited, those of us that model in 1/25 -1/24th scale construction equipment have almost no choices.  The ancient AMT Caterpillar D-8 is a mainstay and is currently being reissued.  The equally dated Ertl JD 310 Backhoe hasn't been reissued in decades along with the Ertl farm equipment kits.  There are few rare die cast fork trucks from Europe.  If you want museum quality kits CCM offer a few in 1/25 scale for hundreds, even thousands of dollars. Be thankful for the smaller scale choices.

 

 

 

The problem with New-Ray is not in selection, it's in scale fidelity.  They are very generic in both plastic and metal, both.

Utterly unlike Joal, Universal, Norscot, NZG, and, of course 1st Gear.  Thos latter two have outstanding detail.  Which can make them a shame to drill out rivets and rebuild them.

 

There are Facebook pages were modelers have modified and converted Jada and New Ray truck trailer models to wonderful show pieces.  It depends on your skill level and how far you want to go.

Excellent work, it looks real! Nice job with the weathering too.

Thanks Don. The Miniart kit looks like real nice. Hasegawa also has some Hitachi models in 1/35 scale as well. 

So far, only the 135US (handy as I used to own one, if only briefly).

That kit is a beauty, and Hasegawa needs to make more.

Only downside is that the one company that used to make indie tracks (Hitachi all use metal tracks) has folded up and vanished into the wind.

Nice model.  I generally stay away from those military armor web sites.  They totally disrespect civilian trucks and heavy commercial subjects. You never seem them represented.

What's somewhat annoying is that there's a wide range of construction equipment in die-cast in 1/34 to 1/36, with the bulk at 1/35.

And, naturally cecent truck kits at 1/35 are somewhat lean on the ground (if over-salted with New-Ray low-detail assembled models).

The trailer selection at 1/35 is even more sparse.

Which is a shame as I have the 1/35 Hitachi 135US in the stash, and it woould be nice to have a trailer for it.  Sigh. 

Excellent finish on a “toy”!  The running gear looks appropriately heavy.

    Now that is a truck!! I can only dream of building something that cool.

    While I build armor, planes, sci-fi, cars and trucks...especially tractor trailor semi's ALWAYS catch my attention. P. S. former skateboard tugger.

Here's a similar one I used to play with, a 320 on a Cozad pulled by a 359.

Wow, that is an impressive build; especially with all the scratch work you did. I love trucks but I don't have the room to display them atm. Very nice work.
