I'm a "Newbie" here also. An orphan from Scale Auto Wink.

Thank you for the nice welcome to all of us SA refugees.

This build is from Jimmy Flinstone, and was a very nice and clean casting, and mastered very well.

The body didn't need much clean up or holes filled. Just a few minor things, and prep work for painting color and clear coat. It just needs more polishing now, and then foil.

Nice to take a break from the complicated stuff and do something a little more simple.

Here's a few pics. Thanks for checkin my ol' girl out.

You said "bubbletop" and had my attention. And you said Pontiac and I'm like, I don't think I've seen a Pontiac bubbletop. This is cool. Love the paint.

What paint did you use for the main color? It's stunning.

Thanks guys.

The orange paint is from DupliColor from a lot of years ago, but still sprayed. I warmed the can up  and hoped for the best.

It's probably 15 or 20 years old, so I was surprised when it sprayed. I've collected spray cans of paint for over 20 years and so far, for some reason, most of them still work.

Most of what I have you can't buy anymore, so it's always an adventure when I try an old can or two, and they still work.

Makes the hobby and building more fun.

A couple update pics of starting foiling.

Foiling adds so much "Bling" to a project if it'sdone right.

Getting a car body prepped and painted and foiled is a big deal, until you open the box with all the rest of the parts that still need to be prepped and installed in order, I'm  reminded that I have just started.
