Hi Car Builders:
Here's one for you. Think of the most Beautiful auto you've ever seen that is not an Exotic Super-Car or F anything racer. Now take that beautiful Auto and turn it into a perfectly proper looking Pick-Up Truck ( Or as the Aussies call them, Utes!)
You know I tried this a few years back with a Ford Van Model. The old "Ironside" van .I was surprised at how neat it looked. reminded me of a larger version of the old Falcon Econoline High Deck P/U!
It's not as much of a stretch to imagine or do. Try it sometime when You hit Builders Block!I have a chance to do this to a Kia Soul Die cast IF the dealership can get me one! I have been thinking about doing this to my actual car. I have even talked to a shop and he would be willing to take Payments IF I allow him to wrap the finished product. I dunno, Maybe?
I've seen a real '59 Cadillac turned into an El Camino-style pickup, by a stereotypical Texas oilman no less. I always thought that would make a great model.
I have also seen a 57 Ford Ranchero with a 58 Edsel front clip.Looks factory if done correctly!
How about a Ford F-150 Lightning pickup being turned into a Ferrari F-1 pickup??
With widened fenders from a dually pickup. And a 12 cylinder Ferrari engine in the rear under the bed.

I built the following Buick:
I used a Buick Grand National and a '78 Chevy ElCamino to bash this one together.
Building models since 1963.
Taking up space on the bench: '53 Ford Pace Car, '58 Impala, '63 Boss Nova, '67 FOOSE Dodge, '67 Puma GT, '72 Dodge Van, '73 Mustang, Dodge V-100
Oh Bucky!
You're a modeler after my own heart! Now that Mustang Ute looked neat too, didn't it?
Oho!
Now I gotta say, How will you be able to tune her up? Neat idea!
Tanker-Builder Oh Bucky! You're a modeler after my own heart! Now that Mustang Ute looked neat too, didn't it?
Thanks! I like the Mustang Ute, too!
Here's another one:
I call this Chevrolet the "Palamino", from ImPALA and ElCaMINO.
I used an AMT '62 Impala convertible, an AMT '65 ElCamino, and the hardtop roof from a Monogram '58 Thunderbird. I also used the back half of the chassis from an AMT '59 ElCamino for this build.
Now those two are kit bashing extraordinaire.
Omigosh!
A "Palamino" For sure. Awesome! Just to Hi-jack momentarily. How many have you seen that should've been available as Convertibles too?
